SQL Database Administrator

Purcell O Leary are recruiting for a SQL Database Administrator to join a growing online gambling company in Co. Dublin. This is a remote role; however, the successful candidate may be required on site in Dublin.

Job responsibilities:

• Work as part of the wider Architecture team to set and maintain our data storage standards
• Provide support to other technical teams on all matters relating to database technologies
• Ensure that all data stored in our cloud and ‘on premises’ databases is securely stored and archived
• Improve the performance and scalability of our databases both production and non-production(performance, testing, staging, post deployment verification) systems
• Optimise our database configuration from a performance and cost perspective
• Work with a wide range of technical specialist (Architects, Software Developers, QA Engineers and Tech Ops) to deliver robust, scalable and performant storage solutions

Job requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field, computer science preferred, or equivalent working experience
• Three or more years working as a DBA
• Experience integrating new technologies with existing technologies
• Experience implementing technologies with enterprise-wide impact
• AWS cloud database experience (Aurora RDS & MySQL)
