Sales & Business Development Manager – Logistics

Reporting to: Senior Commercial Manager

The role of Sales & Business Development Executive is an integral part of our clients core business. The role holder will be primarily responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities, maintaining existing customer relationships, and achieving sales targets.

General Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve company targets.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities while nurturing and expanding relationships with existing clients.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Commercial Manager to align sales strategies with overall business objectives.
  • Utilise telephone sales techniques to effectively communicate value propositions and secure new business.
  • Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of General Haulage, Supply Chain, and/or FMCG sector dynamics.
  • Leverage operations experience to enhance customer satisfaction and streamline service delivery.
  • Utilise European geography knowledge to optimise logistics and transportation solutions.
  • Employ strong negotiation skills to secure favourable terms and agreements with clients and partners.

Person Specification: 

  • Track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Previous experience in telephone sales is essential.
  • Flexibility to travel as needed, with a valid full driving license.
  • Exposure to and understanding of operations within the haulage industry.
  • Proficient knowledge of European geography to support effective route planning and logistics.
  • Proactive and results-driven individual with a focus on achieving and surpassing sales objectives.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain positive client relationships.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a dynamic team environment.
  • Analytical mindset with problem-solving capabilities.
  • Adaptable to evolving market trends and industry changes

Knowledge, skills and experience required: 

  • Minimum 5 years’ sales experience in the Transport Sector
  • Experience in General Haulage / Logistics; open to Supply Chain and/or FMCG sector experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field.

Salary: €50,000-€60,000 per year
